Summer Adventure Programs

Join the Boojum Institute this summer in the breathtaking mountains of California for an extraordinary adventure. Students ages 10-17 will venture on overnight backpacks, ascend renowned rock climbing walls and build confidence on our high challenge course – choose your summer adventure! 

Under the guidance of expert staff, students will have fun developing an understanding of teamwork, explore environmental issues, develop critical thinking and communication skills, and build leadership and self confidence.   The Boojum experience is profound: through personal and group challenges, students learn about each other, what it takes to work together…and above all, they learn about themselves.

Wilderness Wilds

Wilderness Wilds will introduce you to the fun and wonders of wilderness adventures. Get creative with your problem-solving skills while high in the trees on our high ropes challenge course, climb the world famous rocks of Tahquitz and San Jacinto Rocks, journey into the wilderness on an overnight backpack and descend 8,500’ to the desert floor on the world famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.  We will work together to set up camp, build fires, learn primitive living skills, backpack, and rock climb. Be prepared for game playing, laugher and the discovery of your own spirit of adventure as this course is all about having fun outdoors with new friends.  We couldn’t have crammed more fun into these 5-days if we tried (and we did!).

Yosemite National Park:  Boots, Backpacks and Ropes

The awe inspiring grandeur of Yosemite National Park - Need we say more?!!  Challenge yourself on the Park’s rocks, accomplish backcountry peak ascents, learn primitive living skills, backcountry orienteering and give back to our National Parks by participating in a service project.  This rugged adventure will challenge you and your group to build your backcountry, leadership and decision making skills in one of the world’s most spectacular settings.  This program will surely be one of the most meaningful and memorable experiences of your life.

Sierra Summits

Hike among wildflowers and watch for wildlife while developing your backpacking skills in the world-famous High Sierra Mountains.  This program will give you a taste of real adventure while backpacking, rock climbing and ascending peaks in the mountains.  We will spend the evenings together, laughing, sharing stories, and making new friends.  Along the trail, we will complete a service project as the team learns more about our fragile ecosystem and works together to improve our environment.  We will teach you all the hiking and camping skills you will need during this memorable four-day backpack and peak climbing experience.
