Boojum Programs

Boojum programs are offered to a wide range of organizations serving young people, including public and private schools, inner-city non-profits, religious and social groups, as well as to adult staff, volunteers and boards from for-profit and non-profit corporations – literally any group of people can benefit from the knowledge, self-confidence and team-building expertise gained from the Boojum experience.”

“My experience with Boojum changed my life! I have more
confidence, learned new skills and enjoy school even more.”

Brittany, Boojum Institute Participant

Utilizing a range of activities in magnificent settings throughout the Westhat includes rock climbing, backpacking, rafting expeditionsand our own high ropes challenge course, leadership skills and the capacity to work well with others, enhances team performance, and helps participants become better environmental citizens.

Boojum programs are also custom-designed to increase the learning and leadership skills of program participants, and are integrated with the educational and developmental goals of our partner schools, community organizations, universities, colleges and businesses.

"The entire Boojum staff is top notch. They really have their stuff together! I will continue to tell other schools about what a great experience they provide.” John, Headmaster, LA Independent School

Utilizing the power of experiential, hands-on learning in awe-inspiring natural settings, Boojum programs provide opportunities for new insights into relationships and the development of self-worth, compassion, integrity and strength of character. These qualities, combined with a formal knowledge base, take a holistic approach to educating the whole person.

These often life-changing experiences are offered in a variety of formats.  These include one-day group exercises on Boojum’s high ropes course in Idyllwild and rock-climbing in Joshua Tree National Park.  More intensive offerings include 3-5 backpacking and hiking programs, some built around fully established base camps.  Other exciting opportunities include Colorado River canoe expeditions, sea kayaking along the California Coast, exploring Yosemite, and more.

The Boojum Institute is committed to helping people achieve their educational and leadership development goals, and doing so in natural environments that ensure their success.  And we do that with each and every one of the groups we work with – whether students from a private school in our Outdoor Education program, or inner-city/at-risk youth in our Adventure Challenge Program, or a group of adults in a Professional Development/Retreat at one of our challenge courses.

The Boojum Experience – an experience for a life-time!
