Boojum Testimonials, Success Stories and Thank You cards

  • 8th grade students from Katherine Delmar Burke School of San Francisco participated in a five day Joshua Tree National Park program for several years. While hiking through the high desert Boojum instructors take advantage of teachable moments and spoke with the girls about conversation and desert ecology. Upon returning to school the students embarked on a new project called the 'Pay It Forward Project.' Together the eighth grade class reduced the amount of carbon emissions by 408,989.83 lbs that's equivalent to taking 20 SUV's off the road for a year!
  • "It's a great program. I'd suggest it to anyone who hadn't tried it. New Roads"
  • Adults from Farm Credit Services Southwest participating in an on-site initiatives program as part of their annual staff meeting. Their Boojum program added an outdoor, hands on approach to creating a more productive work atmosphere. "I thought the program was very effective. It brought me out of my comfort zone and forced me to interact with co-workers to the point that I'm more comfortable with them now." "I learned to trust, reach out to my co-workers and know that they have my back."
  • Participants from Salvation Army Red Shields Youth and Community Center's program learn the importance of conservation and chose to take action at home. While attending a five day adventure challenge base camp in Joshua Tree National Park students learned about the importance of reducing, reusing, recycling and composting. As a group they decided not to use the typical styrofoam and plastic wares at the Center and brought their own diner wares to a post course banquet.
