Back Country

Backcountry

Backcountry programs offer participants the opportunity to travel through wilderness environments, camping at several different locations during the course of the program. Participants and staff transport (by canoe, kayak or backpack) all the equipment and supplies required from camp to camp. Backcountry programs allow participants to experience wilderness settings outside the reach of modern mechanized travel. Although these programs can be more physically demanding, there is a corresponding increase in the personal and educational impact such a program has on the participants.
